CHL 419C Genre Study: Romance in Children's & Young Adult Literature

This course provides a historical study and critical analysis of the intersection between fiction written for young readers and romance – the most commercially successful genre in the United States. Students will learn about the historical development of the genre and trace themes concerning self-development, intimacy, respect, and love.
