Biology (BS) / Nutrition and Health Promotion (MS) Program
Students complete this accelerated BS/MS program in five years and receive a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Biology and a Master of Science degree in Nutrition and Health Promotion. Graduates of this program will find opportunities and careers in a variety of fields promoting health, which include research, government programs, hospitals, and medical facilities. Application to this program occurs in the second semester of the student’s junior year and submitted to the Director of Admission for the School of Sciences and Health Professions. A grade point average of 3.3 is required, but no GRE scores are necessary. The curriculum for this program is described below. Two graduate courses, NUTR 410 Research Methods and either NUTR 453 Advanced Topics in Preventative Nutrition or NUTR 455 Nutrition, Fitness, and Wellness are taken in the senior year and are counted towards the undergraduate degree credits and also fulfills two of the graduate course requirements, giving the students a significant reduction in tuition costs.

BIOL 350 or BIOL 370: need 8 credits for Capstone.
NOTE: For the NUTR 410, NUTR 453, NUTR 455 Sequencing: During the Fall and Spring terms of their senior year, students will work with their advisor and choose either NUTR 453 or NUTR 455 after taking NUTR 410. A minimum 3.0 overall GPA must be maintained and students must earn a B or better in their two graduate courses to continue in the program.
