Overview

The word ‘philosophy’ means “love of wisdom.” Philosophy is the quest for knowledge that begins with wonder about all dimensions of life. Philosophers ask the big questions, such as ‘’What is the meaning of my existence?” Why should I be good?” “Does God exist?” and “What is real?” The study of philosophy fosters inquisitive and open minds engaged in constant reflection, reasoning, and dialogue. So, it develops the cognitive and communication skills that employers value most. A minor in philosophy is the perfect complement to any major and provides excellent preparation for graduate studies in all fields.
