Description
The purpose of this program is to provide graduates with the additional coursework needed for the Qualified Behavior Analyst (QBA) certification through the Qualified Applied Behavior Analysis Credentialing Board (QABA). This program will support both professional growth and the delivery of high-quality, culturally sensitive care within the UAE region, while also creating the potential for a broader global impact as graduates bring their expertise, skills, and internationally respected credentials back to their home countries.
QABA requires candidates to complete 270 hours (18 semester credits), inclusive of 8 hours in supervision coursework, 20 hours in ethics coursework, and 20 hours in autism core knowledge. Additionally, candidates are required to complete 2000 hours of supervised fieldwork. Supervised fieldwork should be inclusive of assigned projects aligned with the competency standards, with an additional focus on providing supervision and the QABA Ethical Code.
Learning Outcomes
Graduates will benefit by receiving education and training in both special education and behavior analysis, with an emphasis on supporting learners with autism. Graduates will also receive supervised fieldwork experience, supervised by a certified behavior analyst, bridging their knowledge and practice from the academic classroom to their daily practice with clients. Graduates will develop skills to ensure the dissemination of high-quality behavior analytic services internationally.
Requirements for Entry into the Program
This program will only be offered to Simmons graduates in the UAE who have completed the Master of Science in Education (non-licensure) program.
